ClauseLedger is a B2B web app that helps finance and revenue teams get the numbers out of signed customer contracts that often run to 150-200 pages. Finance analysts usually read every agreement by hand and retype billing terms, due dates and commitments into spreadsheets and CRM systems, which is slow and error-prone. We designed a tool that extracts, structures and verifies that information automatically. The work followed a full UX process. We started with problem framing and research notes, then built a user persona around Sarah, a finance analyst at a mid-size B2B SaaS company. From there we sketched the information architecture and user flows on paper, turned them into a digital IA in Figma, and finished with high-fidelity visual design for the login, dashboard, contracts portfolio, task and reporting screens. The result is a calm, data-dense interface. At a glance it shows money owed, money owed out, revenue at risk, and which contract clauses still need a human review.

Key financial terms were buried across 150-200 page contracts, so finding billing conditions, commitments and deadlines took finance teams hours of manual reading.
Analysts had to copy contract details into spreadsheets and CRM systems by hand, which led to repeated effort, inconsistent data and missed revenue.
Billing triggers, renewal notices, opt-out windows and payment terms were easy to overlook. Missed invoices and costly contractual deadlines followed.
Teams lacked confidence in manually extracted data and kept going back to the original contract to check it, which slowed down the whole workflow.
Even when the information was available, it was hard to tell what action was needed, who owned it and when it was due, especially across a large portfolio of contracts.
Designed a simple upload-and-extract flow where a contract is ingested and AI turns its key terms, billing information, due dates and commitments into structured data that is easy to scan.
Built a finance-first dashboard with four headline KPI cards: Owed to Us, We Owe, Revenue at Risk and Awaiting Review. Each card is paired with a prioritized "Needs Attention" queue, so critical issues such as unbilled milestones or CRM mismatches come up first with a clear Review, Decide or Compare action.
Brought upcoming billing, upcoming deadlines and a Portfolio Health breakdown (Verified, Needs Review, Exceptions, Processing, Archived) into a single view, so renewals, notice periods and invoice triggers are never missed.
Created a contracts portfolio table with contract value, next key date, CRM match status, an AI confidence meter, status chips and owner avatars, so analysts can instantly spot low-confidence extractions and discrepancies.
Made every extracted value traceable back to its source clause, with confidence thresholds and verification states, which cuts down re-checking and gives teams confidence in the data they report.
Grounded the whole experience in a researched user persona, hand-sketched information architecture and user flows, and a structured navigation of Dashboard, Contracts, My Tasks, Reports and Settings, so the product reflects how finance analysts actually work.
